I'm not sure how you quantify "rare" vs. "common", but in the last 3 weeks I have gotten 3 sup ads and a dozen sup vigor runes, plus uncounted sup monk runes farming ettins. I don't just try it a few times and give up, I farm them consistently.

Just a hint for those that don't know, ID the rune, but don't salvage it till you know how much you can get for it. Like someone pointed out earlier, unsalavaged ID runes could be worth more than ID salvaged runes, esp Mes Runes.

thing is crystalline swords don't drop in toa uw.. I solo farmed the hell out that place.. the rare drops out the phantom chests are storm, eternal bows and shields- sometimes you get a fellblade dropped.. rest is ecto sometimes spikey hammers- the colds are the worst with garbage staffs usually.. not even worth going after

I believe you can get them from chests after clearing FoW(Crystaline Swords)

nuee showed me her stuff, and she knows what shes doing. so far ive gotten a crap load of purples, only 2 golds, but both were nice (sup prot=7k, sup axe=3.5k)

I spent several hours farming these ettins in the exact method nuee descibed for a few days and.......... 1 sup death rune.

I reccomend going around the southern desert, doing a griffon run stopping through heroes audience then continuing south killing all on the way through the place where you do the desert 15 attribute quest, salt sea or something, going thruogh killing the 2-4 wurms in there, (also the wurm on the way to audience from augury) killing the sand giants, and going back up to augury, i made 50k from that run with a monk going along with me. If you soloed the whole way im sure you could get more.

I made 50k mainly from the wurm drops as one dropped a hammer that someone bought for 40k which prolly wasnt worth 40k...

Wurms are also pretty good farming as if they drop collector items theirs are worth 1k, the item drops are nice from them too.

This run may take longer, but it is a lot more fun.

yeah no way could u make that much in a day or 2. the most i have ever made was 10k. half the runes only sell for 40g

Either can do both. Mo is faster. I dont reccommend either though because the drops have been nerfed so much. I rarely get golds now, even fresh to the farm.

You are really better off doing 5 man oro/sf runs (or solo if we work out what that ele guy is doing

) or even the new underworld area with a full group is still profitable.

I get gold drops all the time - usually about 1 per 2/3 runs. And Griffin/Mino farming never was about getting an UBER gold drop, it was about the reliable flow of money. As far as I know, you still make the same amount in gold/mechant weapons as you did 4-6 months ago. The only difference is it takes about 2-3min more per run because of the AoE update.

if ur talking about ettin runs if you do them outside of ascalon settlement they seem to drop more rares i made about 50k off em 3 sup vigors

Cut the bs noone can make 150k continuously. You could on a couple of runs if you farmed 10 hours a day 7 days a week but if you do that is just sad and the chances are slim. If 99% of people are saying they have never had anything similar yet you are disagreeing I find your comments farfetched to say the least

For what it's worth, you can get a crystalline sword from the "quest chests" that appear after you restore a monument. I know this because I've gotten one.

The downside: they will be 100% purples. PvE "quest chests" only drop purples. The only "quest chest" that drops gold is located in the PvP Hall of Heros.

Learn to read and quote accurately. No one here has said that they "make 150 k continuously". The OP asked what was more profitable: Trolls outside Droks, Griffons outside Augury, or something else? The Ettins simply have higher profit potential.

. The 500k comes from the 0.00000001% chance of me getting a req 7 15>50 longsword. This can be applied to any farming location. Ettin farming is less profitable than griffons and trolls as ettins drop crap runes and the chances of getting anything good these days is very very rare.

Typically means it happens often or is a common occurance so you are telling me 150k per ettin run is a common occurance. No its not is the answer. It may happen one in every 200 runs which is an uncommon occurance. Therefore it is not typical to get 150k per run and is infact a highly inprobable event.
